Visiting the National Gallery at Princes Street
was another excursion I made during my finals.
Unfortunately, they don’t allow photography inside the gallery, but it was really nice, and I took some pictures on the way there and on the way back.
So, Giulia has this habit of over-apologizing for EVERYTHING, so naturally, Rachel and I love making fun of her.
One night, we made thirty-something post-its with variations of “I’m sorry”, “I’m so sorry”, “I apologize”, and “This is how many sorries I am”. Then we not-so-sneakily put them all over her door. To make them stick, we had to sort of rub the adhesive edge a bit, which apparently made a scratching noise that Giulia could easily hear.
About halfway through, Giulia came out to use the bathroom or something, so we ran to the kitchen. Then we went back to her door and finished our…prank? When she came back, we ran into my room. We were sprinting through the tiny flat like hooligans, clearly failing at being sneaky, and it was SO MUCH FUN.
Giulia thought the post-its were hilarious.
I love Flat 3.
Cutting into it!
I just realized that I am House, because I’m eating a TARDIS without a soul!
In a fit of inspiration, study-avoidance, and exam anxiety,
I made a TARDIS cake!
It’s a chocolate chip pound cake with blue and white cream cheese frosting and chocolate details. The blue isn’t as blue as it should be, but I used up all my blue food coloring, so…that’s just as blue as it was gonna get.
My habit of baking in general, but probably especially this project, which required the creative use of many plastic baggies with their corners cut, inspired my flatmates to get me a little eight piece icing set as a going away present. That was at the flat dinner, which I’ll get to later.
Right now, it’s time for cake!TARDIS pictures.
